We Eloped

New Brunswick has been doing really well in keeping it's residents safe. We have managed to keep our infections low and therefore are able to look into the near future with a little more optimism. For a little while, the thought of our wedding taking place this fall seemed likely. As time passed, and the new normal set in, we realized, there will be no recreational inter-provincial travel. Half of our family and friends on our guest list are from out of province. So, even if the province of New Brunswick deems it safe for us to have a small gathering in the fall, the people who we want there, wouldn't be allowed to attend.

It was not an easy decision, and it took some time to come to terms with what we were "letting go" of, but ultimately we just wanted to be together and it didn't matter how or when we did it. Instead of waiting an extra year and living apart, delaying the beginning of our life together, we decided to get married in my parent's front yard where people could safely watch from a distance and online.

We are holding our October date for this year as long as we can, and a pandemic day will be announced if we find we need to reschedule.
